A man who told his victim he had a gun, but never showed it, pulled off a robbery in the outer Sunset District early Sunday morning.

The victim, described by police only as a black female, was at the intersection of 47th Avenue and Moraga Street at about 3:25 a.m. when a black man about 22 or 23 years old approached her. The man had a hand in his waistband, told the victim he had a gun and demanded her property, police said.

She gave the man her cell phone and a wallet containing an unknown amount of money, and the man fled on foot, according to police.
