San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee will come to Ocean Beach Thursday for a press event about the Ocean Beach Master Plan and its efforts to preserve the beach, spruce up the appearance of the Ocean Beach shoreline and better connect the area to the rest of the city.

The event was announced in a brief email from the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association, which led the development of the Ocean Beach Master Plan.

“San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee will join numerous city officials to celebrate the completion of SPUR’s Ocean Beach Master Plan, an interagency effort to create a sustainable long term vision for Ocean Beach, addressing coastal access, ecology, and infrastructdure in the context of severe erosion and climate-induced sea level rise.”

The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the parking lot at Sloat Boulevard and the Great Highway.
