The future of San Francisco’s Ocean Beach is the focus of a new exhibition opening Wednesday evening at SPUR.
The San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association has been working on the Ocean Beach Master Plan for more than a year and a half, and has nearly completed the ambitious plan to guide the uncertain future of the city’s largest and wildest beach. SPUR says the exhibition will highlight the Ocean Beach Master Plan’s attempt get competing interests and tangled jurisdictions all moving in one direction to face the challenges of rising sea levels, erosion, public access and protection of expensive public infrastructure.
Wednesday’s exhibition-opening event starts at 6 p.m. at SPUR, 654 Mission Street. Admission is free, but SPUR asks for a $10 donation.
