Watch transit of Venus in live webcast

Venus will transit across the sun today, an astronomical event that will not occur again for more than 100 years. But you don’t have to fry your eyes trying to look at the sun — in fact, thanks to a webcast from San Francisco’s Exploratorium you don’t even have to go outside to see it.

Tech blog Mashable has a pretty good rundown of how and when to view Venus in transit. The most important tip: Don’t try to look at the sun with the naked eye.

The Exploratorium has a live feed showing the transit of Venus, starting about 3 p.m. Watch it here:
