Party with Surfrider and The Riptide Sunday for Earth Day
The San Francisco Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation and Taraval Street bar The Riptide are teaming up for a beach cleanup and block party to celebrate Earth Day.
Surfrider has organized a public beach cleanup for Sunday morning on the north end of Ocean Beach, starting from 10 a.m. to noon at Stairwell 17 on the O’Shaugnessy Seawall opposite the Beach Chalet. Then from noon until 6 p.m. Surfrider will host a free block party on Taraval Street, centered at The Riptide bar, between 46th and 47th avenues.
The block party will have food trucks Cheese Gone Wild, Seoul on Wheels and Doughnut Dolly, beer from Trumer Pils, and children’s activities, with music by local legends The Mermen. A raffle will offer a surfboard, a bicycle and other prizes. Proceeds will benefit the Surfrider Foundation.
