Eric Vintero takes over as captain of SFPD Richmond Station
Eric Vintero has been named the new captain of the San Francisco Police Department’s Richmond Station, replacing Capt. Keith Sanford.
Vintero is a department veteran of nearly 17 years, and a San Francisco native who grew up in the Richmond District and graduated from Washington High School.
Vintero previously served in the Taraval police district, and the Central and Southern districts. In 2002, the SFPD awarded him a silver medal for valor.
Sanford had been captain of Richmond Station since May 2011.
The Richmond police district includes the Richmond District neighborhood, plus most of Golden Gate Park, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and the University of San Francisco campus.
