A special note to our readers:
From the first days of the Ocean Beach Bulletin, Woody LaBounty’s history column Before Now has been a constant part of it. Before Now has played a big role in helping us balance news about the modern neighborhood with context about its rich history, and we’ve looked forward to seeing it every other Tuesday.
But now it’s time to say farewell to this part of the Ocean Beach Bulletin. Woody has given us all more than a year of interesting information and great stories, and we’re grateful for his dedication to Before Now.
As many of you know, Woody also runs the Western Neighborhoods Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated entirely to the history of western San Francisco. Anyone who liked Before Now will love the Western Neighborhoods Project, and we encourage you to visit and support Woody’s efforts there.
