Man convicted of weapons charge in Parkmerced noise dispute
A 31-year-old man has been convicted of brandishing a shotgun at someone who asked him to stop stomping on the floor of his Parkmerced apartment.
The Bay City News service reports in the SF Appeal that a neighbor and her male houseguest asked David Aviel to stop stomping on Nov. 10, 2010. He continued stomping, and when the neighbor’s houseguest stepped outside again, Aviel pointed a shotgun out an apartment window at him.
Police took Aviel into custody and discovered the shotgun was loaded with five rounds of ammunition, including one in the chamber of the weapon and ready to fire.
Aviel faces a maximum sentence of a year in county jail. His sentencing is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 30.
