The San Francisco Zoo kicked off the first day of winter with a snowstorm made from 10 tons of ice donated by San Francisco Ice Delivery at the polar bear enclosure Tuesday morning. The event marked the first of the zoo’s “Winter Goes Wild” days, which run through Jan. 2. Every day, zoo residents will be presented with holiday-themed goodies to commemorate the season.
